Tina’s Warriors and Brown Girls on a Mission: Hope Event for Cancer

About the event
What We’re Solving
Every woman deserves to feel supported through treatment. Together, Tina’s Warriors and Brown Girls on a Mission are creating a movement rooted in compassion and action.
This event is about more than assembling HOPE Kits™. It’s about breaking down cultural barriers, especially for women of color and South Asian women, who too often face stigma around cancer, silence about diagnosis, and limited access to education.
We’ll provide tools and knowledge on screening, genetic testing, precision medicine, and clinical trial options so women feel empowered to take charge of their health.

Why Tina’s Warriors
Tina’s Warriors, a survivor-led nonprofit co-founded by Tina Valbh, is committed to breaking down barriers in cancer care. Through advocacy and policy, the organization is shaping a future where equitable cancer care is a right, not a privilege.
Hosted by, Brown Girls on a Mission (BGOAM), this event aims to uplifts women and families through service and education, creating safe spaces for women of color to connect, learn, and thrive.
Together, we are elevating voices within our community and breaking cultural taboos that discourage screening and open conversations about cancer. By bringing tools and education directly into the community, we aim to ensure women, especially women of color, know their options and feel supported.
Our Impact
Last year in Orlando, volunteers came together to assemble HOPE Kits™ that reached women nationwide.
We were honored to welcome an esteemed panel: Dr. Kavita Pattani, Dr. Anu Saigal, and Dr. Sheetal Patel—sharing clinical insight and inspiration.
The takeaway: community works. We’re doing it again—bigger.
